Nine Centres of excellence providing the Kenyan system of education
Mekaela Academies is an umbrella organization for nine schools (centres of excellence) in
Kwale county – Kenya founded in 1993 by Members of the German Charitable society
“Watoto e.V”. The schools provide quality education to approximately 2,500 children. The
schools are structured to meet various needs of children at different stages of life.

Junior Schools
- Mekaela Junior schools – Lulu Campus (A standalone mixed day and boarding
School) - Mekaela Junior schools – Kombani Campus (domiciled in Weber School)
- Mekaela Junior schools- Ukunda Campus (domiciled in Ratinga School)
Senior School
- Mekaela Senior High School- The beach campus (a mixed day and boarding School)
The schools offer Competence Based Education curriculum through online learning and in-
person learning. For over 30 years, Mekaela Academies has been transforming lives through
quality, values-based education hence commanding authority as one of the well established
